Description:
A beautiful pair of percussion target pistols ( could be , Duelling or Saloon pistols) made in the town of  Komotau  in Austria  by Franz Passler.. Mr. Passler   also produced guns  in the town of Ottakring ( near Vienna)  , circa 1850. The 7 & 1/2" octogon barrels are rifled and in excellent condition. The overall length is 13 & 1/2". They are approximately 46 caliber. All of the metal is in the original light grey color, which may be the color of the metal itself. . The 3/4 walnut  grip/stocks  are in very good condition. .  The grip areas are  finely checkered with a border design. The butt cap, trigger guard, lock, hammer , barrel tang, and most all other metal parts of each pistol  are finely engraved. The actions  are very strong and the hammers hold on full and half cock. These pistols have seen little , if any, use. The ramrods are original and  have a different kind of wood at their tips. The barrel tops are marked "1" and "2" respectively.  This pair would rate NRA- Excellent.
