Description:
SALE PENDING: 1918 US Military M1911 pistol. Has been through an Augusta Arsenal rework in its 98 yr life. Research and inspection has revealed the following:
1. AA stamped on LS of frame. Augusta Arsenal rework.
2. Inspection mark below slide stop on LS of frame.
3. Model of 1911 US Army on RS of slide
4. Rear of slide stamped with H
5. Period correct barrel stamped with 5 forward of lug and "interlaced" HP on top exposed thru ejection port.
The original grips are in excellent shape with some wear. Pistol comes with one older aftermarket and period correct(and repaired) bottom pinned magazines. The barrel has sharp rifling with light frosting evident. Pistol finish is turning to a beautiful patina with absolutely no pits or freckling. This is truly an excellent example of a WW1 military firearm surviving until the present day. I have fired this pistol and it functions flawlessly. Let the photos tell the story.
