Smith & Wesson Double Action First Model .44 Russian with 4" barrel, nickel plate and S&W hard rubber grips. There are two sets of marks on each side of the frame below the cylinder. The right side within a boarder is stamped NOT ENGLISH MAKE. Not sure if this is true or not but searching the internet we found one site stating guns with NOT ENGLISH MAKE were stamped with this mark by the British when decommissioning non-British manufactured service firearms that were to be released to the consumer market. The other side of the receiver is stamped with a series of marks, which can be clearly seen in the close up photograph provided.
