Rare opportunity to purchase a beautiful work of art made for the most iconic dog sled race in the world 1997 Alaska Commemorative Iditarod Colt SAA Silver Anniversary .45LC 24k gold plated revolver with a 7 1/2" barrel. Comes with original presentation case with Iditarod Logo in leather, and certificate of authenticity. This gun has never been fired and there are no wear marks on the cylinder. The 24k plated engraving was performed by the artist at A&A Engraving of Rapid City SD. Number 5 of 149 has been embossed on the butt plate along with "The last great race" on the back strap. Grips engraved with the Iditarod logo along with scenes of the race. Barrel, frame, and cylinder are equally as stunning with Iditarod logos and scenes in 24k. gold plating. Absolutely puts a smile on your face when you hold it. A gentleman was at the race in 1997 bought this pistol and has had it on display in a case ever since. It truely got the white glove treatment and has been the highlight of his collection. No one to leave it to so he hopes someone else will get the same enjoyment out of it he did.
