Description:

This is the rare 2” barrel that is sometimes associated with the secret service and other law officers.  Manufactured by Iver-Johnson Arms & Cycle Works, which is an interesting business combination.  The serial number is externally on the trigger guard, but it is repeated under the grips as proceeded by the letter “O”.  Accordingly, this gun was made in 1905, and was designed for black powder as advertised by the manufacturer.  (See warning note under “Terms” below).

This model has what some refer to as “the Glock Trigger Safety”.  Obviously Iver-Johnson got there first!  The trigger cannot be pulled without the finger being centered in the bow of the trigger.  Mechanically this gun functions as new with tight cylinder lockup on pulling the trigger.  Also the extractor rises on breaking the barrel downward, ejecting all cartridges, and then snaps back down ready for reloading.  The rifled bore is shiny almost as new, and chambers are clean and smooth.

All external markings are bold and clear, including the barrel address, serial number on the trigger guard, and patent dates on the butt.  The gun retains 95% original nickel as follows: barrel 98%, cylinder 85%, and frame 99%.  Note that the cylinder has 50% nickel on its front surface, indicating very little firing.  The trigger guard retains 90% blue.  The trigger and barrel latch release were casehardened, and those surfaces faded to a dark gray.

The original hard rubber grips are in perfect condition with only the slightest wear on the tops of some checkering, and no dings or any other problems.  This gun appears to have been well cared for, with frequent cleaning, oiling, and kept in excellent storage conditions.

Must be shipped to an FFL licensed dealer.

Terms:
No International sales.  Not being sold as a shooter, but as a collector’s antique Iver-Johnson.  If you want to shoot any older gun, first take it to a competent gunsmith and have it checked out.  Warning, this gun was designed for black powder cartridges, not for the higher pressures and burn rates of modern smokeless
