Description:
SN S5791. An early Marlin Model 39 lever action rifle with “S” prefix in serial number. Octagon barrel is 24” with a near good bore that is fairly bright and strong with some pitting and roughness near the muzzle end and also what looks to be 2 faint rings. Metal surfaces are a fading blue/gray and plum patina with some light scattered oxidation staining and corrosion. Stock and forend retain much of an older refinish over scattered dings and dents. The toe of the buttplate is chipped. FFL or C&R
