EARLY 1890 SECOND MODEL PUMP RIFLE IN .22 SHORT, MADE 1905, (interestingly, Winchester started putting proof marks on their center fire rifles in 1905 and this one doesn't have the proofs- probably a very early 1905 manufacture), particularly fine condition for such an early .22RF as most of these saw very heavy use, fine deep receiver blue with only light plum mixing on the edges etc., fine deep barrel blue with only a few areas of light spotting where the blue is flaked to brown- minor, fine deep mag tube blue, surprisingly decent bore (usually seen in poor condition on these early examples) with good rifling and only some light scattered pitting in the middle of the bore, fine wood shows normal light handling and very tight wood to metal fit, original 1901 patented rear sight with small blade front, tight action and takedown, very attractive example
