This Bauer .25 Automatic has been expertly hand engraved and gold plated. Each of the original imitation pearl grips has a solid 14 karat gold lion head inletted into it that our jeweler estimates to weigh between 8 and 10 grams each. At $22 per gram the gold value alone has a value of $350 to $400 dollars. This Bauer .25 Auto started life as a plain stainless steel carry pistol. The design of this Bauer was reverse engineered from the Browning Baby .25 pistol, which was considered a great pistol design. Bauer investment cast their major parts in stainless steel and each pistol was hand fit and assembled. Because of this intensive hand fit assembly they have a reputation as a very reliable carry pistol. It was this reputation that probably caused the original owner to choose this pistol to customize. As one would expect, this pistol shows very little to no wear or evidence of firing as it has probably been a showpiece since engraved and plated. The workmanship is quite good and today it would be very expensive to duplicate. This is a one of a kind pocket pistol that would be a great addition to any firearms collection. It definitely catches the eye!
