The A.H. Fox XE Grade is truly one of the most handsome American doubles ever produced, with its deeply carved oak leaf engraving on the receiver and barrel wedges, long elegant forends with the buffalo horn inlay cut to a slight schnabel, rebated frames to keep the head of the stock from spreading, frame filed to the shape of the barrels all the way to the top rib, locking screws on the top action screw, delightful checkering on Circassian walnut stocks, all coming together to make a stunning double shotgun. The XE Grade Fox came standard with ejectors and a Silvers pad, and special attention was paid to the chambers, bores, and chokes to create a highly refined shooting machine. This 1924 gun, sn29317 is no exception. Nicely restored with 100% bone and charcoal case color, 99% rust blue, perfect TruOil finish, perfect checkering, 28" #4 weight Chromox barrels, Fox/Kautzky single selective trigger, tight on face and hinge pin, all ready for your upcoming hunting season. It is very rare to find an American double gun in 12ga. that weighs under 7lbs. let alone 6lbs. 10oz.! And with the single selective trigger, this is a very rare combination and a perfect upland gun for grouse and pheasants over dogs. Fox guns have been steadily going up in value and an XE is highly prized. Thanks for looking.
