Description:
Fox CE 16 Gauge SxS
ENGLISH STOCK, AS NEW, 1 of 305 MADE, NICE!

General Specs: A.H. Fox, Year 1921, 16 Gauge, 6lbs 5oz, Side by Side
Serial Number: 301251

The A.H. Fox C Grade guns are considered by many to be the most attractive of the Fox guns.  There are higher grades but the C Grade engraving is elegant.  This is a rare gun, as they only produced 305 C Grade Fox guns in 16ga. and only 202 in Philly made guns.  This fine Philly Fox, sn301251, was made in 1920.  The gun has been beautifully restocked with nice English walnut showing an English style butt stock with proper Fox long tang trigger guard and splinter forearm.  The work was done to historical perfection in every detail, including shaping and checkering pattern.  We can bend the stock to suit your needs or add a pad to lengthen LOP.  Finally you have choices in a vintage American classic that fits.  With Doug Turnbull Restorations case color and trigger guard blue and new wood the gun is an "as new" gun, completely stripped, cleaned, inspected, and lubricated for decades of trouble free use.  The barrels have had the chambers lengthened to 2 3/4" and the forcing cones lengthened and with the new wood is set up to shoot the heavier loads we need for late season pheasants and other tough birds.  What a great investment that you can enjoy afield or at the gun club.

Common requests are: -stock bending to suit your particular requirements -addition of any specified butt pad to increase length of pull -alteration of chokes to suit your shooting preferences -lengthening of chambers and forcing cones -darkening stock color with penetrating stains -restoring any part of the gun including rust blue, charcoal blue, bone and charcoal case color, wood restoration and checkering recuts. If you like one our guns but it needs "tweaked", let us know and we can quote you a time and price. Some enthusiasts like the guns "as found" and others want them "just so".
