Description:
The Remington "SC" Grade Model 58's were an upgrade from the standard model. They came with hand selected deluxe Walnut stocks and a ventilated rib barrel. They were Remington's first gas operated shotgun and led directly to the development of the famous Remington Model 1100 that was introduced in 1963. This Model 58 Remington has a beautiful stock and forearm with lots of figure in it. It has a 26 inch barrel including a period installed "Cutts Compensator" with "SKEET" choke. It shows some honest wear to both the blue finish and the varnish on the stock set. The bore is excellent and the wood is sound with no cracks or repairs. We rarely see these high grade Remington 58s and when we do, they are almost never in a small gauge like this example. This shotgun looks great as it sits, but would look even better if the wood was refinished. This is a scarce gun in this configuration!
