Allen & Wheelock Sidehammer, LARGE FRAME, Navy Model Percussion Revolver...
Second Model Latch... serial #124, 36 caliber, 6 1/2” octagon barrel with a very good, partially bright, partially pitted bore. The metal surfaces have a mottled pewter-brown patina with pinprick pitting and light oxiation staining.
The cylinder displays a nice roll-stamped forest scene.... The smooth walnut two-piece grips rate excellent with some light dings and dents and old added finish.
The inside of the grips are correctly numbered to the revolver and “SHILO” is incise carved on the inside left grip. The two screws on the butt of the grip frame and the one on the backstrap are missing. All parts are matching and the gun times and locks nicely. An honest Allen & Wheelock revolver.
