Description: SCARCE FRICTION LATCH, Allen & Wheelock Sidehammer Navy Revolver, serial #110, 36 caliber, 5 1/2”inch octagon barrel, The barrel MARKING IS the early "1857" ALLEN'S PATENT date... The bore has some moderate pitting, the revolver times and locks nicely.... The revolver has been lightly cleaned and there is pinprick pitting. The cylinder has a faded engraved forest scene. The smooth walnut grips rate very good with some old dings and dents from many hard years of use, as well as a 1/2” inch chip at the back of the right grip. The barrel number matches the rotating cylinder plate number... Only 100 of this First Model Navy with the SCARCE FRICTION LATCH were produced. Overall a very honest example of a sought after early model Allen & Wheelock Navy sidehammer revolver. SOLD Antique: Yes |
