Description:
This falls into the letter prefix range with C224. Bbl markings are "Whitneyville Armory Ct USA" followed by "Kennedy". 44 cal which would be the 44-40. Whitney-Kennedy's have their own unique handsome look with the distinctive "S" shaped lever. A good example with a fair amount of orig blue remaining. Some aging and flaking. Also some wear. Receiver is nice. Bbl has most blue on it but I think there has been some touch-up cold blue. There is some dings near the "Whitneyville" and also near the front sight which looks like they have likely been touched up. The mag tube is a replacement. Some areas of pitting in an otherwise bright bore. Would benefit from a good cleaning. Forearm cap has a funky color and there is a crack on the bottom. The forearm wood has been repaired. A nice job was done with no loss of wood and is not very visible. The buttstock has dings and scratches with a sliver missing towards the upper tang. Much better than average condition. Strange sights with a semi-buckhorn rear that I am pretty sure is not orig and a hooded front sight. Elevator is missing from the rear sight. If you are looking for something different the Whitney-Kennedy would fit the bill.
