Full custom 7x57 Mauser by Dave Caboth previously of Anchorage, AK and now of Alta, Iowa built on a 1913 Oberndorf Mauser commercial sporting action. Action never drilled and tapped. Rebarreled with a 24" Douglas Premium barrel contoured to original Type B specifications with a new ramp front sight and using the factory original banded sling swivel and three leaf rear sight with one standing and two folding leaves. Action is all numbers matching with a flag safety, and pear shaped bolt knob. Blackburn trigger. Oberndorf lever release floorplate. Custom stocked in a very nice piece of English Walnut with steel pistol grip cap and ebony forend tip. Point pattern checkering with mullered border that wraps the forend. 14" LOP to thin Decelerator pad. 7lb 3oz
Mr. Caboth is a graduate of the Colorado School of Trades and also taught there for several years. He was involved in stock design for both Hein and Dakota. His inletting and checkering skills are flawless. This custom Mauser stalking rifle remains as new from the maker.
