Description:
ANTIQUE ARGENTINE MAUSER MODEL 1891 LUDWIG LOEWE 7.65X53 MONTGOMERY WARD CUTDOWN RIFLE OR CARBINE. Early B prefix 4-digit serial number. Montgomery Ward imported these in the late '50's and early 60's so no import marks. As a result the crests were ground off by Argentina before exporting. Once in country the bolts were turned down a little and length shortened to around 23" barrel length. Often some parts or stocks were mixed and matched to make presentable rifles. This one has all the original matching parts to the gun except the stock which is incredible because the inletting is so tight like a custom stock job. Beautiful European walnut with original stock finish and only a few tiny storage checks that should lift. All markings on metal parts including screws crisp and matching. Built like a watch(typical Berlin craftsmanship), perfect working order and mint bore. Some salt and pepper about front sight should clean to nil. Would make a great shooter for no money.
