The Smith & Wesson 16-4 Masterpiece .32 Magnum revolvers were made in 3 barrel lengths: 4", 6", and 8 3/8" from 1989 - 1992, and shipped with the very rare and desirable square butt Goncalo Alves Combat grips with S&W medallions. They chamber and fire .32 S&W Short, .32 S&W Long, and the powerful .32 H&R Magnum cartridges. This one is a 1st-year production gun with an 8 3/8" full underlug barrel and features a square butt K Target frame with 6 shot cylinder, adjustable rear sight with patridge front sight, Wide Target color case hardened hammer and trigger, and beautiful Goncalo Alves Combat wood grips. As this one was made in 1989, it has desirable features no longer found on current Smiths: It has the square butt grip frame with wood grips, the firing pin is on the hammer, and there is no lock (new Smiths have round-butt frames with rubber grips, internal firing pins, and keyed locks that disable the firearm when turned to the lock position). It is in excellent as new condition with a light visible cylinder turn line and no visible handling marks with furniture-quality grips. It has nice action, perfect timing, and the bore is sharp and bright. It is nice collectible example of a hard to find firearm. Appears to be unfired.
