You are viewing one used but in excellent original condition Winchester Model 1894 rifle in caliber 32 WS (32 Winchester Special). It has a standard 26" octagon barrel with full magazine. Special order features include a shotgun butt, hard rubber buttplate with Winchester logo, screw eyes for the Winchester Sling, a Lyman #4 hunting front sight with all of the original ivory bead intact, and a climbin Lyman #21 receiver sight properly marked DA on the underside for this model and caliber. Barrel and mag exhibit 98% original blue with the loss being the octagon edges, edges of muzzle, and front edge of mag tube ring. Receiver/lower tang about 50% with balance flaking as typical of the Winchesters of this vintage; Lyman sight has been there from day one as all the blue remains underneath it. Even the forearm cap retains 60% original blue, most have gone silver by now. Stocks are sound with no splits or cracks and never refinished, still very tight and proud. 90% of the original varnish remains. Stocks do show normal nicks, dings, marks from use over the years. Serial # 565xxx puts year of manufacture approximately 1911. No chips out of buttplate. Action is very tight and crisp. Hammer spring very strong and half-cock safety functioning normally. Bore is bright and shiny with no frosting and no pitting, sharp rifling, a 9 of 10; should make a great shooter upon inspection by a competent gunsmith. All markings are sharp and correct for the period of manufacture. Firearms are the best investment so don't miss this one as it is sure to increase in value over time.
