Description:
Beautiful and scarce example of a pre war Winchester M42 Solid Rib Skeet grade. Serial# 15xxx. Mfg. in 1935.
The barrel is 26", choked SKEET, with 3" chamber and excellent bore. The mechanics, lock up, and overall function are spot on, no issues.
Most of the original finish remains on both metal and wood and is in exceptional condition, especially considering it's 81 years of careful use. There are light scattered handling marks in the varnish and some bluing wear in the usual places of carry point and slide contact, along with some very light speckling type marks on receiver walls, but all relatively minor.
Priced well below current blue book value with the rib and pre war premiums based on 95% condition, which would be underated by most sellers standards.
