Description:
Colt 1911A1 General Officers Pistol
  • .45 ACP caliber
  • Issued to Brig. General Harold W. Glattly who was a surgeon and one of the founders of the prosthetics department at Walter Reed Army Medical Center
  • Glattly was a decorated veteran of WW2 and was captured in the Philippines
  • He survived the Bataan death march and served as the Luzon surgeon during his internment
  • Earning a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, and the Legion of Merit
  • Pistol is in excellent overall condition and is a Ogden Arsenal rework with proper OG mark on right side of frame
  • WW2 Colt 1911A1 replacement slide as indicated by the US Army Model 1911A1 on right side
  • Small parts are all standard WW2 Colt
  • Hi-Standard HS/P marked barrel
  • Bore is bright and shiny

  • His Silver Stars and U.S uniform pins included in as well as his medical Caduceus
