WW2 USGI M1 .30 Carbine in very good used condition. This is an Underwood M1, serial number 61226xx, made in 1944. Underwood barrel dated March 1944 with a bright bore.  Marked parts are mixed manufacturers, all USGI, all are described below and shown in pictures. Stock is IBM with an Augusta Arsenal rebuild mark.

The carbine has been disassembled, examined and lubricated. We also test fired the gun and shoots great. You can watch our video at our YouTube channel, Fernwood Armory TV.

Sling, oiler and 15 round magazine noted below are included.

Underwood M1 sn 61226xx Specs:
 
  • Receiver: March - April 1944. Marked “U.S. CARBINE CAL. 30 M1”, “UNDERWOOD 6122604”, with flaming bomb on bevel. Excellent condition, absolutely no pitting, finish wear in contact areas. 
  • Barrel: Underwood 3-44, long skirt, with flaming bomb and firing proof “P”. Exterior is in very good condition, no pitting, minor finish wear. Bore is bright, crown and rifling very good. Muzzle Erosion (ME): 1 1/2 
  • Front sight: marked “N”
  • Rear sight: adjustable, stamped, marked “I.R. CO.”
  • Bolt: flat, parkerized, marked “AOB”
  • Firing pin: marked “NI”
  • Extractor: late type flat lip, marked “W.I.”
  • Barrel band: late bayonet lug type, marked “KI”
  • Trigger housing: Inland, excellent condition
  • Safety: rotary, marked “N.”
  • Operating slide: marked “AOB” inside
  • Hammer: straight, marked “AM”
  • Trigger: marked “.U.” with trident logo (Neptune Meter Co.)
  • Sear: marked “W”
  • Magazine catch: 15-round type, marked “E.I.”
  • Stock: walnut, oval cut high wood, marked “S C B” (Sprague & Carleton for IBM) in sling cutout, with crossed cannons on right side, “AAW” (faint) on left side, also marked “21 Z” on pistol grip, and has some kind of paint mark on the right side. No cracks, relatively few dings/scratches, nice appearance
  • Handguard: walnut, four rivets, marked “IO”, no cracks, nice appearance
  • Recoil plate: unmarked but not cast 
  • Buttplate: unmarked, square checkering pattern
  • Magazine: marked “(SP)”**
  • Sling: C-tip, probably reproduction
  • Oiler: new repro
