Remington model 1867 Navy Rolling Block Carbine. Scarce South Carolina martially marked Navy carbine. This Navy carbine is one of 200 carbines purchased by South Carolina and upgraded to .45-70. Tang is marked S.C.. Receiver is U.S. Navy marked and has correct saddle ring. Metal has brown patina. Wood is very good, no cracks. Remington Rolling Block Military Rifles of the World, describes this carbine as a “rarity of rarities”. A hard to come by Navy Carbine!
