Winchester 1866 Saddle Ring Carbine. Made in 1879. 4th model gun with iron butt plate. Barrel has smooth brown patina with nice sharp markings. Wood is very good with wood slightly above metal. Small chips missing at the corners around the top tang. Brass is sharp with light handling wear. Left hand side laid up against something, possibly was on a mount and there is a line in the patina. The bore has visible rifling with pitting throughout.
