Description:
Sold Pending Funds / U.S. Smith Corona 1903-A3 Bolt Action Rifle. This rifle was used In Filming of the mini-series "The Pacific", serial # 4810886, cal. 30-06, with a two-groove 24" marked RA / ordnance bomb / 12-43 barrel that has a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces retain about 85% arsenal finish that show light handling wear most of the loss is seen on the butt plate. The scant-C pistol grip butt stock and hand guard rate good plus plus and show light handling marks, the hand guard has a few minor cracks but nothing that’s alarming. The butt stock retains the Ogden "OG" cartouche and has a crisp firing proof and letters "SS" on the left side of the butt. This rifle was part of a 100 gun order placed by Zorg Limited to Sarco for rifles used in the HBO mini-series "The Pacific".  Zorg was the armament company that provided the prop weapons for filming. There are no importer markings. The rifle comes with a green canvas sling. Also included is documentation, a letter of authenticity from Sarco regarding its use in the film, included is a movie poster from "The Pacific", just an added bonus to the ensemble. This rifle is an excellent example on its own, would make a fine shooter as-is with the added bonus of having been used in a recent but popular media accounting of the War in the Pacific. Inv.: # 2-1697
