Description:
#565552, Don Allen Custom Stocked (The Founder of Dakota Arms) Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 in 270 Winchester with a 22" barrel without any open sights that was installed at Champlin Firearms in April of 1986 by Bill Rinie, Two panel teardrop bolt knob checkering, Blackburn hinged straddle floorplate with a center bow release, Built up and checkered bolt stop release, A blind rear guard screw at the rear receiver tang, Profiled rear tang like a Pre-War Model 70, Model 70 safety and trigger, The entire inside of the action rails have been very professionally polished including the receiver sides below the stock line and the bottom of the action, Jeweled bolt and follower, Extremely nice inletting outside and very nice inside, A very nice piece of English Walnut with excellent color and contrast, Shadowline cheekpiece, Full wrap around fleur-de-lis checkering pattern which goes over the grip, Two screw tiedown steel grip cap, 14 3/16" LOP over a 1" black pad, 7 lbs. 7 oz., Sling eyes on the stock, The gun remains in overall 96% condition with a bore like new, The Winchester Model 70 action was made 1962 and has been turned into a first rate American Classic Bolt Rifle from a mass produced American Classic relative metal and wood work. Here is another American Classic that was graced by the hands of two talented people that gave a lot to this very trade, Mr. Don Allen of Dakota Arms and Mr. Bill Rinie of Champlin Arms. Neither one of these craftsmen is with us today but their work will always be held with high esteem among custom rifles. Nobody threaded and fit a barrel to an action body like Bill Rinie; there is a pretty fair share of $20K custom bolt rifles in North America with his barrels that have been hunted in every game field on this great planet.
