BISLEY "PROJECT GUN" WORTH DOING! This one is a nicely re-nickeled Bisley with a 4 3/4 inch .45 Colt barrel (markings are about gone, but this is either a Single Action or Bisley barrel) with very nicely done front sight and rear sight square notch blade style put into the top strap, beautifully nickeled with blue screws, looks like original grips that show wear but are solid, hammer is a replacement- needs a standard Bisley hammer (since the Bisley is now being reproduced, a hammer shouldn't be too hard or expensive to obtain- or just leave this one as is), the only odd part is that the cylinder shows some good aged blue but has never been nickeled AND IS IN .44-40 CALIBER! The guy I got this from said it was a .44-40 and he shot it! I'm sure it will shoot, but the bore is pretty oversized! (Go figure). Anyway, the cylinder needs to be bored out to .45 Colt (easy) to make this a neat shooter. Fine bore with good rifling and only a little frostiness, Shows some nickel wear on the ejector housing and I think it was probably originally a nickel housing from a Single Action. Matching numbers in the 279XXX range (1906), fine action, lots of potential in this one.
