Payment Types Accepted: checks, cashiers/bank check, money order Description:  THE SCARCEST AND MOST DIFFICULT MARLIN TO FIND AND THIS ONE IS IN THE MOST DESIRABLE CALIBER: MODEL 1888 OCTAGON RIFLE IN .44-40, MADE 1888, these don't show up very often as only 4814 were manufactured from 1888-1889, of these only 1727 were made in .44-40, it seems most of these that I've seen over the years have been in .32-20 caliber- probably because they did not see the kind of hard frontier service the .44-40 saw, this is one of the better examples I've encountered as the receiver shows fine blue on the sides with some normal light scratching and mixing of gray and brown, fine blue on the concave bolt on top of the receiver (top eject on this model), even the upper tang shows some good blue also with some light scratching/wear, fine aged barrel blue with some edge wear and some dings near the forend cap and a couple behind the rear sight , mag tube mixing brown on bottom with good blue on upper part,  original buckhorn rear sight, small Lyman half-moon front sight, fine+ wood with some very tiny chips by the upper tang and some handling marks on the bottom of the forend tight action with half cock notch weak and SURPRISINGLY EXCELLENT BORE! nice example and very difficult to find especially in this caliber.
