Description:
National Postal Meter M1 carbine, serial 41143xx, mid WW2 production. This carbine has a rare Buffalo Arms barrel dated October 1943, with a bright bore. Marked parts are mixed manufacturers, all are USGI, and are described below and shown in photos. All metal is freshly reparkerized, and had no pitting or damage before.
This carbine has a new reproduction folding “paratrooper” stock. 15 round magazine, sling and oiler are also new reproduction.

The carbine has been disassembled, examined, cleaned and lubricated.

National Postal Meter sn 41143xx Specs:
- Receiver: Dec 1943 - May 1944. No unusual markings.
- Barrel: marked “BUFFALO ARMS 10-1943” with flaming bomb, proof mark “P” and a punch mark, long skirt. Bore is bright, crown and rifling good
- Front sight: marked “P”, probably replacement
- Rear sight: adjustable, milled, marked “H” in shield, Hemphill Mfg. Co. for various manufacturers
- Bolt: round, marked “O.I.” with sideways “2”, Inland
- Firing pin: marked “IN” with punch mark, Postal Meter
- Extractor: late type flat lip, marked “IN”, Postal Meter
- Barrel band: bayonet lug type, marked “AI”, Inland
- Trigger housing: marked “INLAND”
- Safety: flip, horseshoe “M”
- Operating slide: marked “SG”, Saginaw Gear
