Description:
Rare Factory Engraved Marlin, Model 1892 Deluxe in 32 Colt Short Caliber.  Serial #139xxx (Antique Production).  Style 1 or better Factory Engraving and B Checkered Wood.  Party I purchased the gun from told me the engraving was Style 3.  I am sticking with the style 1 and if it is higher, more power to the new owner.  Marlin engraving is somewhat complicated to decipher.  Barrel and Magazine Blue retain 95% Original Finish.  Receiver retains a high percentage of the Original Case Colors.  With Engraving, it is difficult to ascertain an accurate percentage and feel that 50-60% is a very fair determination.  The Engraving is Beautiful.  Don't know who did it but sure it was one of the Masters of that era.  The Deluxe Wood with "B" Checkering retains all of 90%+ Original Finish with Very Nice Figure in both the Buttstock & Forend.  The checking is sharp and has no visible dents, chips or flaws.  Wood is Very Sound with a few minor handling marks (See photos).  Bore is Excellent.  Gun was built to handle both 32 Colt Short Rim & Center Fire. Presently , set to use centerfire.  Looking at the photos, you will see a screw in the top of the receiver through the A in Marlin.  This is done by the factory to hold the bullet guide in place.  Standard Rear Sight on Barrel with a Lyman Tang Sight and a Beeches Front Sight.  A truly scarce Marlin in Great Condition and well cared for.  No Licences required for purchase being an antique.  Thanks for Looking.
