Description:
Fox B Grade 12 Gauge SxS
1909, GREAT WOOD, 100% CASE COLOR, NICE!

General Specs: Fox, Year 1909, 12 Gauge, 7lbs 1oz, Side-by-Side
Serial Number: 9395

Here we have a very nice Fox B with the early, graceful, English scroll style engraving that is still clear, sharp, and more detailed than any other B Grade I have observed.  This Fox, sn9395 made in 1909, was produced at a time when the finest Fox guns were coming out of Ansley H. Fox's factory.  Ansley was still at the helm insisting on the highest quality, even doing the final inspection on most guns himself.  The internals are highly polished, the factory original butt stock is highly figured European walnut with good shooting dimensions, and the rib matting and barrels stampings are sharp and clear. The gun is tight as new with the top lever just right of center,  excellent screws, perfect mechanics, superb wood to metal fit, nice bores, everything in remarkable condition for a gun that is 106 years old.  The metal and wood has been nicely restored and retains almost all of its new finish.  The workmanship is superb and the gun appears as it did when Ansley H. Fox inspected it and sent on its way to please generations of shooters.  What a great gun to take afield or to the club with your buddies to break some clays this fast approaching season.  A great value on a nice Fox.  When you consider a restoration of this quality costs over $3000 and takes over a year to complete, this gun is a bargain indeed!  And at 7lbs. it is a delight in hand.  Thanks for looking!
