Personal Check with hold Description: This is an early Ainsworth Inspected Colt SAA Revolver. Serial #8290. .45 Colt Caliber. 7.5" Barrel. Manufactured in 1874. Most serial numbers in this range being issued th 5th Cavalry Units in San Antonio, Texas, who were later sent to the Dakotas to fight the Northern Cheyenne and Sioux under Crazy Horse and Sitting Bull. Originally blue and case hardened finish. Condition is very good with most of the finished having toned a silvery gray. Shows light pitting from poor storage to left forward portion of frame and topstrap. Small parts marked with "A" (Ainsworth); replacement walnut grips( #5493) and several replaced small screws. Matching numbered parts including cylinder and barrel. Action is strong and works like it should. Has a very good bore.. Buyer pays $35.00 shipping to lower 48 states.
