Description:
Very fine 1862 Springfield that the metal is uncleaned without pitting or erosion in the breech area. Rear sight retains much original blue. The .58 caliber bore is bright and near mint is it isn't mint. The 1862 date on barrel was struck a few hairs light. The stock has fine cartouches with good edges as I suspect it was lightly cleaned at one time. The metal parts are just starting to turn a very light brown. Beautiful rifled musket. Very desirable Springfield.
