Description:
NSN, .44 Caliber, 2 1/4” barrel with a very good, lightly pitted bore. This is a nice little, London-proofed, center hammer pistol that was made ca. 1770, and has all iron construction with an overall mottled gray patina that has some old browning still visible in spots on the barrel. There are further areas of light-moderate pinprick pitting along the trigger guard and frame, but are heaviest on and around the cock and pan. The bag-shaped, walnut grip is missing the original wire inlay filigree. There is a triangular repair to the wood on the right side and a small flower-shaped inlay is missing from the back surface. The mechanics are sound, the pistol is fully functional. The pistol does not have its spanner, but the barrel will still turn-off by hand. This is a nice example of his work and rates very good condition overall. Antique
