1895 RIFLE IN RARE .303 BRITISH CALIBER, MADE 1908, one of the least seen calibers for this model as most went to Canada where this was a practical caliber considering their tie to England, an honest example with good aged barrel blue that is thinning and mixing gray/brown, but not cleaned or steel-wooled, receiver shows good blue in the usual protected areas and like the barrel is mixing gray/brown, exc. blue on the bolt, D. W. Kind, Pat. '97 marked flat top buckhorn rear sight with small Marble blade/bead front sight, correctly marked ".303 BRITISH" on the barrel top ahead of the receiver, fine wood with good wood to metal fit shows normal handling/hunting use with no abuse, exc. screws with the tang screw probably a replacement, no extra holes, bore is a little dark but not pitted and should clean near exc (amazing as most of the early .303 Brit. ammo was corrosively primed and left bores a mess), nice early 1895 in a super rare caliber.
