#701, Gary L. Goudy 25-06 Improved (40 Degree Shoulder) Full Custom Built by Him in 2001 on a Winchester Pre-War Model 70 Action #701 that was Made in the 1st year of Production in 1936, It was custom ordered and built for a Doctor in Wadesboro, N. C. with Exhibition Wood & Exhibition checkering, 2 piece scope bases, Model 70 trigger, Action rails inside are polished, Built-up & checkered bolt stop release, Blackburn bottom metal with a straddle hinged floorplate with a center bow release, 5 panel teardrop bolt knob checkering, A Goudy Custom Classic style stock, Super piece of English Walnut wood that was ordered as Exhibition, Shadowline European style cheekpiece, Outstanding wrap around Fleur-de-lis checkering pattern with ribbons thru the panel with carved borders for the Fleur-de-lis's with checkering inside the inset, Not many custom stockers can cut a pattern like this, Check out the photos, Skeleton grip cap, 2 screw tiedown sling eyes, 8 lbs. 4 oz. as is with the bases, 13 3/4" LOP over a 1/2" pad, Can go to 14 3/8" with a 1" pad, The bore remains as new, The original rust blue remains at 98%, The original stock finish at 96%, The checkering is at 100%, The rifle is accurate. Mr. Goudy is one of the best stockers and certainly is at the top of the class of American Classic Style bolt rifles. He knows the game well and he is a hunter that applies the field to the gun.
