Description:
Better quality gun from a top tier maker, low serial no., with nicely sculpted and engraved scallop-backed receiver, Greener crossbolt, side bolsters, side clips, cocking indicators, top safety and (at one time) ejectors. Screws are good with very minor marring to a couple of them. There is a lot of original finish on the action and on the Krupp barrels, bores are correct diameter and mirror bright, barrels retain all of their 30" and the twin ivory beads are nice. That's the good. Now the rest: Nitro steel bbls are numbered to gun, cyl/cyl chokes, chambers have been taken out to 3", proofed 12, 13, and S&S (Sauer & Sohn!). Forend wood has been replaced with a beavertail, functional but not of commensurate quality. The ejector hammers etc were removed from the forend iron probably at the same time so it extracts but it won't eject. Stock head has an old repair, looks solid. 6lb, stock metrics 1 3/8", 2 5/8", 14 1/2", neutral cast.
