PARTICULARLY FINE CONDITION 1889 .38-40 OCTAGON RIFLE WITH AMAZINGLY MINT BRIGHT BORE! MADE 1892, most of these 1889 rifles saw pretty hard service and those in this kind of condition are hard to find, retains about all the deep barrel blue with only a touch of age dulling, mag tube blue mixing plum with one very light surface ding that is of little importance, even retains good blue on the forend cap, exc. blue on the receiver bolt, right side, top and bottom of the receiver show fine blue that is lightly thinning, left side of the receiver shows fine blue with more thinning in the middle section, generally fine+ wood with normal light handling marks and a couple deeper worn in scratches or rub marks on the left side of the wrist, tight action, lever catch intact (often missing), original buckhorn rear sight with correct Rocky Mountain blade front sight, exc. markings...and superb bore!
