MODEL '04 SINGLE SHOT BOYS' RIFLE CHAMBERED IN .22 SHORT, LONG AND EXTRA LONG RIM FIRE, MADE 1914-1927 (after this date the "Extra Long" marking was changed to Long Rifle) one of the nicer examples I've seen in a while, really one of the more elegantly styled rifles of its type as it has a fancy almost "Hawken-like" flowing trigger guard, crescent butt plate and schnabel forend tip, wood is in excellent condition with only the lightest of handling marks and a little wear to the high edge of the forend tip, fine barrel blue that is ageing/mixing a little plum, tight action and surprisingly EXCELLENT BORE, original correct screw adjustable rear sight with small blade bead front sight, you can just imagine the pride any pre-World War II era kid would take in hunting small game with this rifle on his way to and from school! (That was common here in Montana and other more rural places where classrooms had stand up gun racks in the back- those folks wouldn't believe the world today!) Usually found in hard used and often abused condition. This is a nice example with a great bore.
