Here we present an antique Colt Model 1878 Double Barrel Hammer Shotgun. The Colt Model 1878 Shotgun was the highest priced item in the Colt line and is considered to be the finest quality American production shotgun. Less than 23,000 Model 1878 Shotguns were manufactured by Colt between 1878 and 1889.
This particular offering is an early production and dates to 1879 with serial# 1676.
This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. We presently find other examples of this same gun selling elsewhere for upwards of $10,000.
Barrel is 30 inches in length.
Caliber: 12 gauge
