Knife holds historical significance for that fact. Blade is a hefty 8-5/8" by 1-3/8" wide. Triple clay-tempered in the Japanese hardening and tempering process ( the temper lines are clearly visible). Large single brass guard that blends with the steel. Shiva has never reproduced this type of guard/steel combination where handle/ guard join. The first six Gator Hunter had brass guard, after that, the maker switches to German silver material. Selected cocobolo handle with finger grips and ax-like handle shape, widely copied my countless makers since. Original leather scabbard. This is a full tang constructed model of sheer power.  Comes with the original photograph taken by Ki in 1975. Shiva offers free sharpening, re-handling, refinishing..... just make sure to send the correct funds to return your knife or knives! Amazing knives from the " Louisiana Guru."
