1929 Ithaca Field Grade Double Barrel Shotgun - Star Model 16 gauge, 16G 28" bbls 90%+ case colors Comes with extra very fine period-correct Buttstock and forend with fine/deluxe checkering Barrels show 100% blueing, very fine condition, matted rib, brass bead. IM/F Double triggers. Extractors Cocking Indicators Drop at Comb: 1 5/8 (existing stock) Drop at Heel: 3 3/16 (existing stock) Length of Pull: 14 1/4 (existing stock) Cracked original buttplate Top level right of center I have owned this gun for 30+ years. It was my intention to restore and use it. Too many other projects. The existing pistol gripped, capped stock is in rough shape with far to much drop for anyone to shoot well. I bought a period correct stock and fore end from Walt Synder, the Ithaca expert and author, years and years ago. The current stock is correct to the complete gun with a SN of 456005 (1929). The replacement fore end has SN 443653 (1927). The replacement stock and fore end have much upgraded checkering and were a very difficult find. I do not see any scratches or dings in either. They are in excellent condition. I cannot tell the exact dimensions of the replacement stock, but it is approximately the same LOP as the original stock and should have considerably higher shooting dimensions, less drop, based on my conversations with Mr. Snyder. Everything is there, minus a new buttplate - the easiest part to find - check eBay. I think it's a terrific gun and I spent a lot of time trying to find the current parts.
