Description:
This is an original half stock Kentucky rifle in caliber 36. The gun lacks a maker's stamp or identifying mark of any kind. The side lock bears three decroative stamps with a single line boarder. An early hickory ramrod is in place and appears contemporaneous to the gun. There is a decortive German silver plate on each side of the forend as well as a patch box on the right side of the stock. For an 1840's period gun it has held up pretty well. The gun comes with a double set trigger, but trigger and sidelock may need some work. Trigger guard and butt plate are brass. The protective plate at the toe is missing a one inch section. If this old war horse could only talk.
