This is a "REAL" flashy "south of the border" Hogleg... A Smith & Wesson "First Model American".
Original period of use engraving. The Ivory grips are in untouched natural condition showing the 147 years of age, in their color and appearance.
The grip area is further enhanced by the addition of a Silver Butt Cap, and a lanyard ring. ALL factory applied markings, barrel address etc..are present and vivid.
The action still functions correctly. Loose at the hinge. This old hogleg saw heavy use for a exceptionally long time, and in the roughest, toughest areas of then American Southwest Frontier, This great old revolver lived in Mexico untill 20 years ago and saw "life" on the frontier close up, and shows it.
Yes, "it was there ", more than I can say for a mint piece that never saw anything but the inside of an old dresser drawer...
