Description:
This two foot long supply powder horn that would carry about four pounds of powder. The wood base plug is held by iron tacks and has an eyescrew in center. Exterior is rough, it was never polished smooth. The cord is tied around a groove in throat and plug is of handcarved wood. Some short of old white filler shows in several areas around base plug. An interesting display item . These larger horns were used on sealing vessels and were used to replenish the horns of groups of seal hunters on the ice. A less than common item.
