Description:
Serial #FG969334, .38 Super, 6” compensated, heavyweight, bushing-less barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a superbly made pistol that features: shortened hammer spur, Swenson ambidextrous safety, deactivated grip safety, long trigger, honed action, enlarged ejection port, extended magazine release, deeply checkered mainspring housing/extended magazine well, checkered trigger guard bow, forward slide serrations, and Bo-Mar rear sight. The “JIM BOLAND/GUNSMITHING/.38-SUPER” marked slide has some minor scratches in the stainless steel on both the frame and slide, as well as on the side plates of the Swenson ambidextrous safety. The compensator has some darkening from use, and there is a small import mark on the heel of the butt. The checkered walnut, Colt medallion grips are in excellent condition with only minor wear and flattening of the points. The pistol comes with a single, Shaw bumper-equipped magazine and is in fine-excellent condition overall. The late Jim Boland was one of America's most respected gunsmiths and was renowned for his race guns. This is a stellar example of his work and would make a wonderful addition to any collection. FFL
