Description:
Markings on the bbl are "Chas Stewart Winghamton N.Y.". A very interesting early version of an o/u. Top bbl is approximately 40 cal over a 12 bore shotgun bbl. 22" bbls. Overall length is about 38". In the Frontier days this would have been a very handy gun to have. Cond is pretty nice. A deep antique plum/brown bbls. Nice smooth metal. Lock plates are an antique grey color. Trigger guard is typical of the day in being a very long tang. A light repair has been done and it looks good. Quite a unique trigger set up. It can be used as a set trigger for the rifle or a standard trigger for the shotgun bbl. Flip up tang mounted peep sight and bbl sights. All metal hardware. A very ornate patch box and old style cheek piece. The wood has survived quite nicely. A unique piece that would be a great conversation item and look great on the wall.
