Harold corby masterpiece " YENZER BOWIE " is the epitome of knife collecting. It is the highest tribute and best synopsis to the story of Harold Corby and how he became one of the world's best knifemaker. His work for over four decades revolutionized handmade cutlery and has forever influence other makers. The 11" blade made from 154cm steel is fully engraved by nonetheless then the extremely talented knife/gun engraver Ron Skaggs and many of his peers rates him amongts the world's best. The German silver specially shaped guard and matching butt cap were engraved by Corby. The custom-made walnut presentation case with a German silver plaque was also made by the maker. For decades, Harold has been known for his exceptional knifemaking abilites, and this ivory-handled, engraved Bowie, shows you without a doubt, that there are plenty of reason for Corby's unconditional worldwide fame. This knife is a work-of-art, as are many of his creations. In the simple surroundings of his Johnson City home, Harold hones blades from several steels, making knives that belong sheathed in the girdles of Celtic Kings. Corby makes knifemaking a holy calling and Excalibur a possibility. All over the world, collectors, esteem his work so highly that many were willing to wait out a backlog of orders to get theirs. Some of Corby's handles are like medallions on scepters-they are jeweled with precious stones or inlaid with silver/gold on exotic woods .No one made a Bowie type knife back then like Corby......... or today for that matter. Not seen in the pictures, is the stunning balance, feel, handling characteristics found on a Corby's Bowie. This is one of the very best "YENZER BOWIE" ever made by Harold . The 6,000 to 75,000 years old mammoth tusk ivory handle from the tundra regions of Siberia exhibit some stunning various shade of colors, ranging from pure white, pale and semi-dark yellow to off-white, and in some instances the bark is still visible.
