This is a truly handsome pistol that retains about 97-98% of the original blue finish that has silvered slightly along a few of the projecting edges and surfaces, most noticeably on the backstrap and heel of the mainspring housing. The pistol is all correct with “S” marked trigger, magazine release, sear, disconnector, safety, grip safety, mainspring housing, slide lever, hammer, extractor, firing pin plate, and barrel bushing. Although the barrel does not have an “S” marking, the lip of the breech overhang is correctly marked with a “J” inspector stamp. The correct Springfield-made, checkered double-diamond walnut grips (10 rows of checkering between the points) are in fine condition with some minor handling marks on either panel and a bit of flattening to the points. The original Springfield-made, two-tone, lanyard loop magazine has the characteristic long gray top portion with original blue remaining on the lower 1/3. This is a great looking, all original Springfield Armory Model 1911 and is in simply excellent original condition.
