Description: Serial #C16998, .38 Special, 2ā barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome, five-screw revolver, made in the early-1950s, that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and extractor and retains 99% plus of the original blue finish with only a very mild turn-ring on the cylinder, as well as a few traces of negligible silvering at the muzzle, and along the top edge of the half-moon front sight. The trigger and hammer retain about 75-80% of the original color case-hardening, with the balance turned bright gray, most noticeably along the sides of the hammer base. The correct, diamond-center, S&W grips are in excellent condition with almost no wear and only minimal flattening of the points. They are numbered to a different revolver on the interior. The lock-up is tight and the action functions flawlessly. The revolver is housed in a correct, gold and blue, two-piece box that is in very good condition with some edge wear and corner damage. The serial is no longer legible on the bottom, but the āCā prefix can still be made out. This is a great, mid-20th century, K-frame S&W in excellent condition, and would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
