Description:
In a previous listing about one of Harold Corby's "YENZER BOWIE,"  I asked: Is there any better? To my personal opinion, yes there is; and you're looking at it! This absolutely breathtaking,  astonishing knife is the exact replica of the very first ever made 'YENZER BOWIE," as it can be seen in The Gun Digest Book of KNIVES, 1973. The original "YENZER" was made for a gentleman in Miami, FLorida., whose name was as one might surmise.......Mr. Yenzer. However, there is a sad story reletad to that  first knife.  For some reason, decades ago, it was left at a pawn shop by his son, and it sold for almost nothing; Mr. Yenzer the original owner was never able to recoup it; as of today the whereabouts of the knife are still unknown. I first meet Harold Corby at the 1981 NEW YORK CUSTOM KNIFE SHOW in NYC. I ordered the "YENZER" Bowie but asked that the name "YENZER" be omitted onto the blade ( knowing that he will be at the show, he kindly signed and autographed the book for me-at least the part were there is an incredible write-up article about this extraordinary maker). He was quick to pint out that no one has ever asked to have a similar knife made, but he will be honored to duplicate it for me ; as of today Harold never made another 'YENZER" Bowie as the original seen in the book after I received my knife ( May 1982). This is the second model ever constructed. Not shown are five provenance letters/affidavit from Corby, Skaggs and two other persons. The irony of the story is that 30 years ago I had to sell this knife for personal reason, and the odds in finding it again were totally slim to none........ but back in 2013 I was able to purchase this knife again. The blade bears the work of Master engraver Ron Skaggs who engraved it on both sides, while Corby engraved in a deep relief engraving the specially constructed double brass guard and aircraft aluminum turbine material  along with the matching brass butt cap. Comes with the original leather scabbard made of the very finest English bridle leather. Knife has never been sheathed. The female center cut grade A ivory handle is a thing of beauty. With age it became even more spectacular, with shades of pure white, pink, off white, light yellow and slightly darker yellow. Blade is 11" of 1/4" 154 cm steel. This knife is without a doubt a true museum piece of the highest quality, workmanship, beauty as one can expect from this amazing knifemaker. It holds historical significance as this particular model is the second 'YENZER" Bowie ever made. This is a collector's item and a rare piece from Harold Corby and the most valuable "YENZER" Bowie to my eyes for all reasons stated above. The best of the very best that ever was.  Free shipping USPS within the Continental United States only with tracking number.  So now, I'll end by saying : No, there isn't any better! Free shiping anywhere in the Continental United States only ( USPS with tyracking number ). THank you for looking.
